Back in 2013, I became aware of Lyme Disease. What is it and how does it affect people?
My Daughter and her husband were diagnosed with the disease in 2014 and our world changed. For months the doctors told them that they had mono and were passing it back and forth. The fatigue was real combined with constant joint pain.
At the time I had retired from a Corporate job in the service industry where I spent 35 years of my life. That was life-changing enough to deal with and then I found out both my daughter and her husband had an illness for which there is no cure.
I spent every waking moment on the computer researching what Lyme Disease is and how we get rid of it. The Doctor didn’t seem to have any treatments here in Texas. This was a disease that mainly affected people in the North East not in Texas. The test for Lyme was expensive and not covered by insurance.
Since the diagnosis came late in the cycle of Lyme, for my Daughter 3rd stage and her husband1st stage. He was treated with Antibiotics and has done better but my Daughter had developed acute sensitivities to all chemicals. She could not be treated with Antibiotics.
The more I did research, the more concerning it became as everything for a treatment seemed to be a chemical. My daughter has her own story about one such time when she passed out from the treatment and was a huge concern to all treating her.
Since I was online so much during these months, I had come across a class that I thought may help me with my growing anxiety over the situation. It was a class on the Master Keys taught by my now good friend MarkJ. So I signed up for no charge and was glad to be working on something that took me away from all the concern about my daughter.
I had become so involved I began to have extreme stress issues myself. I started the MKE course and quickly became involved doing the exercises and readings daily. A lot of what I was learning was to control my emotions and rest in the divine order of what God had planned for each of us.
I learned about the 7 laws of the mind and that saved me from all those thoughts that kept me up at night. I applied the principles that were taught to replace a negative thought with a positive one. I learned to be grateful for each new thing that was so hard and make peace with it.
One mantra that was a comfort and one that I came to treasure and still use today. I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy. It was hard for me at first but when those thoughts of the illness took over my mind I used them. And it worked by switching my mind to be in a loving and happy place.
Maybe you are in a place like I was and need a reset to help you. I am inviting you to join us for the next session starting in September.
