As a homeowner, one of the most dreaded repairs that a person faces is a slab foundation repair. Not only does it affect the entire house and structure it also involves the plumbing that is in the foundation. It is one of the most costly repairs.

The reason this comes to mind for me is that when we build a new home the first thing we do is consult a structural engineer. He checks the soil conditions in the place we are planning to build and then gives recommendations as to how the foundation needs reinforcing to protect the structure for many years and never require a foundation repair.

Sometimes the things we have learned in the past need a little renovation. We have been graded in school for years learning to dread the red pencil. I don’t know about you but my papers were graded for what was wrong. Not what was right!  I needed to change my thinking to what was right in the challenging time.

It seems like when things are going along well in life we pay little attention. But then there are those things that come along, shake our foundation to the core and we fall apart. Do you know what those times are in your life?

For my life, it was divorce, child custody battles, and family sickness. My foundation began to crack, my health began to decline and I was unhappy.
