Hi, I’m Joan… created this blog as a practical environment to confront uncertainty, overcome indecision and gain inner clarity, so women everywhere could realize that their greatest potential comes from simply connecting with their most familiar, inner self!
About me
After growing up in a “normal” household, defining that as a traditional Christian one with two parents and 3 brothers, I ventured out to the great city of Athens, Ohio where I loved my day on the beautiful University campus for two years.
Always being drawn to “see the world”, I felt compelled to interview with several major airlines, such as United and Eastern, but Delta was the one that hired me on the spot. After 35 amazing years, with only 2 carriers, Delta and American, I retired in 2013. Needless to say “travel” is in my blood and always will be.
With my partner being a General Contractor his entire life, after my retirement, I began a “crash course” in providing rental properties in the form of single-family homes and duplexes. We have developed property since 2005 in the beautiful area of Benbrook outside the city of Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2013, my then 34 yr old Daughter was diagnosed with 3rd stage Lyme Disease with severe chemical sensitivities. Having been married for 10 years her husband was diagnosed 1st stage Lyme.
For me, this was totally uncharted territory and sent me on an investigative search for answers. These were particular difficult times as the disease itself can be brutal and unrelenting.
I sometimes questioned my own sanity as I watched my daughter’s life turn into a daily struggle for survival not to mention a reach for normalcy every minute of every day. Testing has improved since then, so I remain hopeful.
The experience with my daughter left me feeling empty at times. I found myself searching for something, but not really knowing what that was at the time. A former colleague had mentioned a program called The Master Key Experience that helped her immensely when she was going through difficult times in her life.
So, in 2014, After some basic research and due diligence, I partnered with a group of individuals in the Master Key Experience. My changed life has lead me to believe there is no self-help course quite as detailed or helps build good, principled habits like this one. The once a year online course begins in September on a scholarship basis.
After developing more confidence and clarity through the Master Key program, I decided to branch out on my own in 2019. I now coordinate a Meetup group that supports and encourages small business owners in Arlington, Texas. We are Innovative Business Networking Arlington, the friendliest networking group in town.
